Eurovision stars win big at the "BG Radio Awards"


Although it has been a month since Eurovision, stars from the show who didn't win, won big at the BG Radio Awards yesterday. The Bulgarian Radio Awards show which is in its 15th year showcased the best of Bulgarian music which was held in Blagoevgrad. Bulgaria who have in the last 2 years really excelled at the Eurovision with Poli Genova bringing 4th place at last years edition of the contest. This year too, Bulgaria sent Kristian Kostov who brought the Baltic nation its best ever result with second place. Were these artists acknowledged in the awards.

To put it simply "Yes", and his success at Eurovision was rewarded with 4 seperate awards. Kristian Kostov won more than any other artist or group on the night. He won in the categories of, best male singer of the year, Bulgarian debut, Bulgarian Ambassador and Bulgarian song of the year. He nearly won a fifth award of the video of the year but just missed out on that one.

Kristian was not alone in the Eurovision affair, with last years entrant Poli Genova also winning her award. The "if love was a crime" singer also won an award for best female singer, rounding of a spectacular year for her. Last year she won the "BG Ambassador of the Year" and sung her Eurovision entry at the awards ceremony.

The sky seems to be the limit for these artists, can Bulgaria qualify for the third consecutive year, and go one better and win the competition in Lisbon. Stay tuned to find out.
