"Tic Tac Clock" Michal Szpack releases his new single

Not a day goes by without a new song from a former Eurovision artist. Today's instalment comes from Poland's Michal Szpack with his stunning new single "Tic Tac Clock". Released this Wednesday, the song is rather a nicely chilled but harmonised melody that will appeal to those that like his music. Even if you do not, this track is such a good one that it will have you humming back the tune over and over again. It has quite a relaxed, and certainly softer tone to it, and can even be compared to the musical genre of the Pet Shop boys with hints of electro pop. It's slow and soft like a ballad, but has a rather catchy beat. Check the song out here:
There is no doubt in this video who this star is. With his trademark long black hair, painted nails along with his distinctive voice, Michal tells the listener of the "empty space" in his heart after leaving a troubled relationship behind. As with anyone who has had a relationship break up, and has found the strength to go on, his song reflects how the pain has provided the motivation to separate from the one he loved. The video has him flipping from one beautiful place to another, with a few women with him. However, you get the sense of loneliness that he feels after trying to move on from each relationship. This is easily conveyed in the video. The lyrics which feature below reflect this too:
Time Empty space in my heart
I have to destroy Anyway It's enough I don't want to fight
No more tears No more lies
No more lies
I want to run away from you (Tic tac tic tac tic tac)
Clock on my wall tells me that it's the truth (Tic tac tic tac tic tac) I want to run away from This love Nervy emotions I want to run away
(Tic tac tic tac tic tac)
Lies I still hear in my head I have to fight to forget Far away Love is waiting for me Far away is my dream Is my dream
I want to run away from you (Tic tac tic tac tic tac) Clock on my wall tells me that it's the truth (Tic tac tic tac tic tac) I want to run away from This love
Nervy emotions I want to run away
I want to run away from you (Tic tac tic tac tic tac) Clock on my wall tells me that it's the truth (Tic tac tic tac tic tac) I want to run away from This love Nervy emotions I want to run away (Tic tac tic tac tic tac)
Michal first rose to prominence in the Polish version of the X factor in 2011, where he reached the final. He then went on to place 5th when he entered dancing with the stars. He also appeared on other reality shows, and won several awards. In 2015 his debut album Byle być sobą (Only to be yourself) went to number one in the Polish charts, with several songs from it having a reasonable amount of success in Poland.
Eurovision was Michal's next big project. He competed in the Polish national final and was not expected to win. To everyone's surprise he beat Poland's world famous singers Margaret, and Edyta Gorniak with the song "Colour Of Your Life". At the competition he surprised everyone again by not only qualifying but by doing very well. The new voting system ensured that the 24th position with 7 points from the juries meant nothing, as the public vote then combined gave him an extra 222 points. He finished on 229 points, coming 8th on the leader board. Check his Eurovision performance out here:
