Helena Paparizou's latest song " Έλενα Παπαρίζου - Haide" brings us a taste of Summer.

Greece's Eurovision winner from 2005 Helena Paparizou restores Eurovoxx faith in a perfectly apt tune for Summer with the song Haide, meaning "Go". In her typical style she mixes a blend of Euro/ Scandi pop with a tempestuous mix of her Greek style to an amazing track. It's certainly a tune that we will all be dancing, and singing to this summer. Released at the end of April, this song seems to have gone under the radar during the excitement of Eurovision in May. The season is now over, and this Greek treasure certainly needs to be played loud and proud. Check the Greek version out here:

The song tells of making a mistake and losing your love by acting foolish. Trying to win him back by making promises, and making sure he knows he's the only one that is loved. This seems to be the constant theme to the song. The video is your typical Helena Paparizou feel good, dance video. The Greek goddess is surrounded by many pretty women, dancing around a pool in stunning surroundings trying to seduce and woo a handsome gentleman. The lyrics are:

Should have never walked away I should have been there for you Oh boy, I know I made mistakes It was a foolish thing to do

I shot my innocence for pride You're all I needed by my side Babe' it's not too late Haide Haide Light up the night come show me the way Haide Haide My instinct tells me it'll be okay Haide Haide I'm cravin' waitin' for you to stay Haide Haide Haide Haide

I've got to hold on I may never find somebody like you I've got to move on be right by your side when you 're feeling blue I've got to be strong And it won't be long until I find you Live under your sun Here I come undone

Boy Wherever I may roam I'll be here when you come home I'm good and ready to make nice Baby boy I've paid the price Tonight is not far away

I shot my innocence for pride You're all I needed by my side Babe' it's not too late Haide Haide Light up the night come show me the way Haide Haide My instinct tells me it'll be okay Haide Haide I'm cravin' waitin' for you to stay Haide Haide Haide Haide

The song has done really well by hitting the top spot in the Greek charts gaining position one, it charted at number 2 in Cyprus and Bulgaria with it even going to position 13 in Sweden. On YouTube too, it has managed to clock up over 1.3 million hits. This song should be the perfect accompaniment to her album that is rumoured to be released this Autumn.

Helena is no stranger to success, as a solo artist she has had hit after hit since 2003. Her albums too have taken her very high in many charts gaining top spot in her native Greece and Sweden. These days, she does not release as much music as she once did, but her numerous television appearances, and being a judge on the Greek version of "the Voice" make this a little difficult. However, when she does the tunes such as "Haide" are amazing.

At Eurovision she came an evergreen by winning in 2005 for the first time ever for Greece with the song "My Number One", which was a massive success for her all over Europe. Even before her win, she was known for being part of the band , and lead singer for "Antique" which also had massive success in Greece and the Scandinavian nations. At Eurovision they performed extremely well, giving Greece their best ever placing at third with 147 points at the 2001 Eurovision in Copenhagen.
