Senhit supports San Marino!

May 3, 2017

San Marino had its first open rehearsal earlier today starting what was to be the final day of the first rehearsals for the semi finalists. Valentina Monetta & Jimmie Wilson took the stage together with three backing vocals performing 'Spirit of the Night' by Ralph Siegel. After a snippet of the rehearsal was published by, previous Sammarinese representative and Eurovision star Senhit watched the snippet of the performance  and was amazed by the energy and charisma exuded by Vale & Jimmie during their first rehearsal. She recorded a video with her comments which you can see here

Senhit was the artist of a returning  San Marino, who had been absent from the contest since their debut in 2008 in Belgrade. She brought a classy and refined rendition of her song "Stand By" in the German city of Düsseldorf, ultimately finishing 16th in the semi final and unfortunately missing out on a spot in the grand final. Since then her career has developed further and she has recently published the song "Something on your Mind", produced by Brian Higgins. Take a listen to the song below:

Senhit's comment in English:

"The spirit of the night takes our feelings so much higher and higher." To me the best quote to wish a good luck to Valentina Monetta & Jimmie Wilson! Your song really rocks, guys. It's already stuck in my head! I know well your feelings right now, since I've been the representative for ESC San Marino in 2011. I'd only suggest you to enjoy your performance, to have a lot of fun and to embrace Eurovision Song Contest's spirit!

Valentina and Jimmie will perform on the 11th of May in the second semi final. Do you think they have what it takes to earn San Marino their second ever qualification? Have a listen to the short snippet of the Sammarinese rehearsal from earlier today.
