#EUROVISION2017 | RETURNING ARTISTS!!

Let's take a trip down memory lane and look at which artists are returning to Eurovision this year:

Estonia

Koit Toome and Laura are no strangers when it comes to Eurovision. Koit sang for Estonia in 1998 with his song "Mere Lapsed", finishing in 12th place whilst Laura returns to Kiev again, having been a member of the girl group Suntribe that sang for Estonia in Eurovision 2005. They sang the upbeat number "Let's Get Loud" but ultimately failed to qualify for the final, finishing in 20th place. Will Koit and Laura make it to the final in Kiev? Or will they get Lost In Verona?

Moldova

Europe was first introduced to The SunStroke Project after they sang for Moldova in Eurovision 2010 alongside Moldovan singer Olia Tira. Their song was called "Run Away" and they made it to the final, finishing in 21st place. The band soon became famous all over the internet after group member Sergey Stepanov's saxaphone solo in their song, which earned him the nickname "Epic Sax Guy". 7 years later, they are set to grace the Eurovision stage once again (minus Olia Tira) with their song "Hey, Mamma!" Will we be seeing Epic Sax Guy rock the stage in the final?

San Marino

Valentina Monetta makes her 4th appearance at Eurovision, this time singing the dance hit "Spirit Of The Night" alongside American singer and actor, Jimmie Wilson. Euro fans were first introduced to Valentina back in 2012 when she represented San Marino with "The Social Network Song". She didn't manage to make it to the final and a year later, she was back. Her song was "Crisalide (Vola)" and it quickly became a favourite among the fans. Despite the popularity of the song, she narrowly missed out on a place in the final, finishing in 11th place. Undeterred, she decided to give Eurovision one last try (or so we thought!) With her song "Maybe" she sailed into the final but only managed 24th place. Will we see San Marino in the final for a second time?

Slovenia

Eurovision 2005 came to Ukraine's capital, Kiev, after Ruslana's win the previous year. That same year, Slovenia selected a young singer by the name of Omar Naber to represent them with the song "Stop". He gave a very powerful performance, but ultimately, it was not enough to make the final and he was knocked out in 12th place. 12 years later, Omar Naber is on his way to Kiev again, hoping to improve upon his previous performance. Will he have more success a second time round?

Israel

Imri Ziv, Israel's representative for Eurovision 2017 with the song "I Feel Alive" already has some Eurovision experience under his belt as he was a backing singer for Nadav Guedj in 2015 and Hovi Star in 2016. Do you think Imri will be able to replicate the success he enjoyed in 2015 and 2016?

Serbia

Tijana Bogićević is singing "In Too Deep" for Serbia at Eurovision 2017, but back in 2011, she was part of the Serbian team for Eurovision, as a backing singer for Nina who sang the song "Čaroban". They made it all the way to 14th place in the final. Will Tijana be lucky enough to earn a spot in the final?

The Netherlands

Although they have never performed at The Eurovision Song Contest before, O'G3NE did represent The Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. On home soil in Rotterdam, they sang the catchy song "Adem In, Adem Uit" (Breathe In, Breathe Out) under the name Lisa, Amy & Shelley, finishing in 12th place. After Junior Eurovision, they enjoyed much success in The Netherlands, releasing two albums and a number of singles. Singing primarily in Dutch, their songs were popular among children and teenagers. In 2014, the three sisters auditioned for season 5 of The Voice of Holland under their new name O'G3NE. All four judges turned their chairs for them and eventually they went on to win the show. Since their time on The Voice, they have toured extensively around The Netherlands, released a number 1 album and won countless awards. They will sing "Lights and Shadows" in Kiev, a song that was written by their father, Rick Vol. Check out the video below of their Junior Eurovision performance:
