#CROATIA | JACQUES HOUDEK RELEASED THE LYRICS VIDEO OF "MY FRIEND"
The Croatian entry for this year's contest is finally here. Jacques Houdek will sing "My Friend" in May. In this song, few surprises wait for you.
Jacques Houdek is known in Croatia to be a mentor of The Voice and led Nina Kraljic to victory in the show. This singer of 35 years old, can sing in multiple languages : English, Italian, German, Spanish, French, Slovene, Macedonian, and Maori.
Representing his country in the Eurovision, was a dream for him. In 2002, he competed in the national selection for Croatia but didn't win the competition. He did participate six times trying to represent his country, and almost succeed in 2011 reaching 2nd place in the selection.
The song is a powerful ballad with an amazing vocal performance. He decides to sing in English and (surprisingly) in Italian. The song begins with a statement of Albert Einstein and then the song begins with a soft and enjoyable voice.
The mix between traditional background sound and Italian language, fits perfectly and the powerful voice can be compared as Conchita's voice.
Last year, Croatia managed to qualify in the final with Nina Kraljic with "Lighthouse", will it be the same for Jacques Houdek? One thing is sure, it is that Croatia shows more interest in the contest contrary to the previous years and are aiming for another qualification for the country.
Croatia will compete in the second half of the second semi final in Kyiv. The contest will be held the 9th, 11th and 13th of May in Ukraine.
