Eurovision 2021 | Dates announced for next year's contest


The wait is over! After Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light, fans were met with the announcement that Eurovision 2021 would indeed be held in Rotterdam. The EBU and host broadcasters NPO, NOS and AVROTROS have just confirmed that the two Semi-Finals will be on Tuesday, 18 May and Thursday, 20 May. The Grand Final will be held on Saturday 22 May in 2021.

So mark your calendars!

Semi-Final 1: Tuesday, 18 May

Semi-Final 2: Thursday, 20 May

Grand Final: Saturday, 22 May

The stage and theme will be carried over to the 2021 contest, but the production team is keeping an open mind regarding smaller details, and what will fit with the spirit of 2021.

What about Tickets?

Now that the dates for ESC 2021 have been announced, attendees who are unable to make it to the event can request refunds now through Friday, 26 June. Ticket holders were able to return their tickets a few weeks ago, and only 4% of the bookings asked for refunds.

As of 15 June, 2020, here are the confirmed acts who will be performing in next year's contest:

-Samanta Tina (Latvia)

-Destiny (Malta)

-Jeangu Macrooy (The Netherlands)

-Roxen (Romania)

-Senhit (San Marino)

-Ana Soklič (Slovenia)

-Blas Cantó (Spain)

-Gjon's tears (Switzerland)

-Go_A (Ukraine)

This year's contest would have been held in Rotterdam on the 12th, 14th and 16th May prior the cancellation. 41 countries would have participated in this year's contest. You can check out who we thought could have won this year's contest below:
