North Macedonia | Vasil reveals what would have been at Eurovision 2020

In an exclusive interview for Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) today, North Macedonia's Eurovision 2020 representative Vasil spoke to Aleksandra Jovanovska, where he revealed some details on his Eurovision song, YOU, that would have been presented in Rotterdam this year.

Aleksandra Jovanovska has been the head of press for North Macedonia in Eurovision since 2013, as well as working as a journalist and editor for various Eurovision shows, as well as hosting previous national finals and song presentations in North Macedonia.

"The only thing I feel most sorry about is that YOU did not get the chance to presented on the stage in the real light. Except for the fact that we had brilliant team from Sweden, Tine Matulessy and Mari Forsman Ryberger, the same ladies that took care of Tamara's performance last year at the contest in Tel Aviv. I would have been joined on stage by 4 amazing backing singers, with whom the ethnic vibe of YOU would have come to it's fullest potential."

As Vasil mentioned, he would have been joined on stage in Rotterdam by four backing singers: Martija Stanojkovic (Junior Eurovision 2016); Barbara Popović (Junior Eurovision 2013); Aleksandra Javena (backing singer in 2019) and Lina Pejovska, all of whom are recognised as some of the top singers in North Macedonia.

In the wake of the cancellation of Eurovision 2020, Macedonian Radio Television will be broadcasting a range of Eurovision related programming, starting with all episodes of the Eurovision Home Concerts that will be broadcast during prime time television.

On Saturday 16th, which would have been the Eurovision 2020 grand final, the Macedonian broadcaster will be showing the EBU's show Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light with Aleksandra Jovanovska as commentator.
