Eurovision 2020 | The BBC are hosting their own celebration for Eurovision on several media platform


The British broadcaster BBC have announced that they will celebrate Eurovision in their own way. They are promising us that we are going to see content across TV, Radio and on social media.

It's going to be a night of special programmes celebrating this year's contest on BBC One, revisiting classic moments will be aired on BBC Two and a host of specially themed programmes and treats from the archives can be enjoyed on BBC Radio 2. So there will be alot of content for us all to enjoy and look forward to.

Graham Norton, Ken Bruce, Rylan Clark-Neal and many more will bring alot of joy to the Eurovision audience in homes across the country, uniting and entertaining viewers with plenty of Eurovision programmes and special treats for us all.

Graham Norton says: “Eurovision offers a real escapism for people, which is something we need more than ever throughout these times. This year people at home can celebrate the amazing spirit of the event and hopefully get the chance to take their mind off the current situation for a few hours.”

Ken Bruce says: "It's Virtual Eurovision! On Radio 2, I’ll be playing tracks from Eurovision 2020 featuring some of the best of this year's entries which sadly won't get to take part in the final. And I’ll also be hearing from previous years' stars - past winners reminiscing about their memories of the Greatest MusicFest in the world!"

Rylan Clark-Neal says: “It’s so sad that Eurovision 2020 had to be cancelled, but it’s understandable and it doesn’t mean we can’t still escape to the Eurovision bubble. We’re so excited to be bringing Eurovision content to Saturday 16th May to keep up the tradition of many years of this amazing event. I’m thrilled to be fronting The A-Z of Eurovision and Eurovision Kings and Queens of Pop and looking forward to leaving the current situation behind for a night of pure Eurovision gold!”

Future details on all BBC's channels

Eurovision: Come Together will be a show held and hosted by Graham Norton with a night of fun. This will be aired on BBC One at 6:30pm on Saturday May 16th. Graham will give the UK's viewers the opportunity to vote for their Eurovision performance from a electic short list that have been put together by experts ans celebrities that are Eurovision fans. Viewers cast their votes here.

BBC One will also broadcast Eurovision: Shine A Light like the rest of Europe will do. Graham Norton will provide live commentary for the viewers.

Rylan Clark-Neal will in a program called "The A-Z of Eurovision" that narrates a guide to all things Eurovision in this brand new compilation of highlights from BBC Studios as he takes a sideways look at the greatest singing contest on the planet. The A-Z of Eurovision will feature all the disasters, the costume changes and memorable musical moments from 65 years of Eurovision. The show will be aired at 10pm on Saturday May 16th.

TOTP2 Goes Eurovision! is a show that will include a special Eurovision-themed edition of the show that features archive songs by stars of the famous competition. Artists include Cliff Richard, Lulu, Bucks Fizz, Sandie Shaw, Brotherhood of Man, Johnny Logan and Abba, plus 2007’s UK entrants, Scooch.

Eurovision at 60 will be shown at BBC Four in the celebration of the 60th show of Eurovision. This will be aired at 9:30pm on Friday May 15th.

BBC One Northen Ireland and BBC Four are also gonna celebrate that it was 50 years ago Dana won Eurovision for Ireland. It's gonna be aired on a show called "Dana - The Original Derry Girl". This programme will first be shown on BBC One Northern Ireland on Monday 11 May at 10.45pm and will then be repeated at 11pm on Friday 15 May on BBC Four.

BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat is also going to air a documentary show where the radio show have followed James Newman on his journey to Eurovision on Rotterdam. This was filmed before the Covid-19 outbreak in Europe. This programme will be available from 6am on Monday 11 May on BBC iPlayer.

BBC Radio 2 will be bring the spirit of Eurovision to listeners, and all the programmes will also be available on BBC Sounds. Graham Norton will play Eurovision songs to keep up the good spirit, Rylan Clark-Neal will present the greatest Eurovision moments from history of the contest and Ken Bruce will air all of this on his mid-morning weekday show.
