Eurovision 2019 | Israel And The Big 5 - Who Are The Winners, And Losers From Today's Rehearsal

It really was the part of the day that everyone was waiting for. The press centre had packed out for the anticipation of the Big 5, that consisted of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and last year's winners Israel. There was such a high level of expectation in the press venue, that when most of the acts performed. Everyone went quiet, and were respectful enough to applaud, and interacted with the songs such as Italy, that could easily require audience participation.

This is one of the first opportunities that these artists have had to perform on that Eurovision stage. Please remember though that this is only a rehearsal, and things will likely change. Artists will improve, and more elements could be added to the staging. Who were today's winners, and losers?

The Press Poll

The press on the ground saw several attempts at the first rehearsals , and were able to watch the performances live on the screens. After everyone had performed, this is how the press voted. We would like to thank our friends at escxtra for compiling the figures.

Winners:

Without a doubt, the biggest winner here was France. It is hardly a surprise when it got the biggest applause of the whole day at the press centre. Bilal has worked hard, and surprised many. Although it has won, it is important to note that it has won by quite a large margin. Nearly doubled that of the second place Italy, who also appear on the list. There had been rumours that Mahmood was ill, and he still managed to pull of a good performance. Also, Spain came third, which is deserved as it was such a fun, and colourful performance.

Losers:

Unfortunately that place is reserved for Germany, and the United Kingdom who failed to impress the press poll enough to get enough votes. Germany were last in this poll only securing 17 points. However, it was last to perform in the evening, and may have suffered from voting fatigue.

The Booking Odd's

The betting odds have also been a key feature. Although, there have been minor movements in the betting's, they tend to say a little of how today's performances went. There have not been a huge jump in the movement, but some subtle changes which means some songs, are now out of the top ten for the first time. Remember the next set of rehearsals should see these shift again.

Winners:

France have been the biggest winner today. With such a solid performance, the odds have shortened, and they are now in the top ten favourites to win. They have climbed along with Australia in recent years. Spain too are looking solid in the odds too.

Losers:

Israel, and Germany are the countries currently showing the worst odds of the big 5, and Israel. Germany have improved slightly, whilst Israel have moved down in the odds. These are bookies odds never to be taken too literally, they will change, and will more than likely not reflect the actual result.

The YouTube Views:

There is no significance in the YouTube views at all, but it does tell us what is popular, and what has not been so popular. As there were only six countries to perform there isn't the huge gap in time that there has been with those songs that performed in the rehearsals. The video's will then give an idea of what is actually popular at the moment with people.

Winners:

There seems to be one clear winner here, and that is France, with Bilal's "Roi". The clip of his performance has already been viewed over 55,000 times, and is over 10,000 more than the next popular one. Italy's Mahmood has come second with the viewers who wanted to watch his performance reach a dizzy high of 41,000. Do not forget these video's have only been available for two hours, and are pretty.

Losers:

Just like the press poll. The viewers of today's performances have taken less kindly to those of Germany, and the United Kingdom that have not faired so well with the total amount of viewers. Those wishing to see S!sters were at 13,000 views, whilst the United Kingdom has not done so much better with only 14,000.

What do you think of these winners, and losers? Do you agree with them? Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
