Malta | X Factor Malta to return for Second Season


With the final of its debut season this forthcoming Saturday, yesterday it was announced that the X Factor Malta will be returning for a second season! And you can already apply to be on the show!


This Saturday will see one of Michela Pace, Nicole Frendo, Owen Leuellen or Petra be crowned X Factor Malta's first ever winner and participating act for Eurovision 2019. Following off the instant success the show has seen, including hitting a peak audience of 180'000 viewers, TVM have confirmed the show shall be returning for a second season.


Anyone from the age of fifteen can audition for the show and all you have to do is a message a number with some details followed by a clip of you singing for one minute to a WhatsApp number listed on their Instagram which you can find below. Production is expected to start in July once again in 2019 similar to this season with the show being broadcast near the tail end of 2019, not too similar from the timeline of this series, which began filming back in August. It is unclear if the judges: Howard Keith Debono, Ray Mercieca, Alexandra Alden and Ira Losco will be returning to the judges desk or not.




X Factor Malta this season has showcased a wide range of talent and many faces people who are fans of their old selection show Malta Eurovision Song Contest will recognise, such as Franklin Calleja, Aidan Cassar and Junior Eurovision 2011 act Nicole Azzopardi to name a few, will we see anymore MESC alumni faces next year?


The winner of X Factor Malta 2019 wins the right to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest as well as a record contract with Sony Records Italy.
