United Kingdom | BBC appoints Rachel Ashdown as new Head of Delegation

It's all change at the top, as the BBC have revealed that they have appointed a new Head of Delegation for the United Kingdom, and she is Rachel Ashdown. She will also become a Reference Group Member at Eurovision too.

It has been a year of change for HOD's at Eurovision which has seen France, and Estonia also appoint new members to lead their countries participation. Rachel takes over the job from Helen Ridell who was part of the British delegation for the last five years. Guy Freeman too, who has his roots firmly established in Eurovision has also left the BBC this year, meaning that there will be a fresh line up, and perspective on the contest.

Rachel Ashdown is no stranger to the BBC or music, having been the Commissioning Editor at the co-operation since 2014, and has also been involved in some pretty high profile shows such as "Let It Shine", and "All Together Now". The Eurovision Song Contest can now be added to this.

Rachel is also one one of three new members of the Reference Group for the Eurovision Song Contest. She will join Carla Bugalho Trindade (RTP), and Divit Davidovitch (KAN).

With this new appointment, could the United Kingdom's fortunes at the contest be reversed? What would you like to see change? Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
