ESC 2018 | Austrian artist to be revealed tomorrow!

The Austrian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon will be revealed on Tuesday December 5th 2017.

Austrian Radio DJ at ÖRF radio station Ö3, Eberhard Forcher, revealed the news on Facebook. Forcher says that the Austrian singer for Eurovision 2018 will be revealed on the Ö3-Wecker programme on Tuesday morning. Broadcast between 05:00-09:00 CET, there will be an estimated 2 million listeners tuning in. The show is also available online for those outside of Austria.

This won't be the first time that Forcher has been involved with Eurovision. In June 2016, after Nathan Trent released his debut single, 'Like It Is', Forcher approached Nathan with regards to representing Austria at Eurovision 2017 in Kiev, and after some deliberation with the Eurovision department at the Austrian Broadcaster, they decided to internally select Nathan for Eurovision.

Nathan Trent sang' Running On Air' in Kiev. Qualifying for the final, he finished in 16th place with a total of 93 points, all of which were awarded to him from the juries.

So far, four countries have chosen their act for Eurovision 2018: Aisel for Azerbaijan; Laura Groeseneken for Belgium; Saara Aalto (Eurovissut 2011 & UMK 2016) for Finland and Waylon (formerly of The Common Linnets) for The Netherlands.
