And The Winner Is.............?
Just because an artist has failed to progress to the finals of the Eurovision, or actually win the Song Contest it does not mean that they are still not winners. What has become just as synonymous with the contest, and familiar with the fans, is the Barbera Dex award. This award has been given out to those artists that have won the worst dress artist of the year. It is named after Barbera Dex, who was Belgium's singer at the contest in 1993. Alex Florea from Romania wades in over Salvador's win.
It has only been several days since Robin Bengtsson entered the discussion over Salvador's winning speech. Although, not criticising the performance or the choice of song, he did take note at his winning speech, and commented that sometimes "fast food" music can be just as special, as that song with meaning. In an interview after the contest Alex Florea's words seems to be less friendly than those given by Robin Bengtsson. Instead of criticising the song, Alex decided to at

Could Samantha Mumba be flying the flag for Ireland?
RTE had strong hopes that Brendan Murray would end the deadlock that has seen Ireland relegated to the semi finals every year since 2014. Ireland the traditional power house of the Eurovision Song Contest, has won it on seven occasions, and made the top 10 on so many other times, have somewhat seen their fortunes change. By no means surprising the Eurovision Song Contest has gone global, but the exclusion of Russia would indicate that there would have been a lot more viewers. Below is the latest information Eurovoxx has been able to find on the results of different countries.

Robin Bengtsson, "Can't Go On", and says it as it is!!!
It has only been four days since Salvador Sobral gave Portugal its first ever victory at the Eurovision Song Contest, but already signs of despondancy seem to be arrising over the winners choice of words. Portugal romped to victory winning both the public, and jury vote, whith a very sweet ballad, that hit the right note with many. All was well for Salvador until he made his winners speech at the end of the contest. It is this speech that has seemed to have caused quite a

Lisboa for 2018
It has not been a week since the ashes of the 2017 have settled, and there are already rumours regarding the host city and venue surfacing. This news comes somewhat early compared to that of Ukraine. Fans, and the press had to wait several months before Kiev was chosen as host city, with the decision being delayed several times before the final announcement in December. Portugal proud of winning the contest seem to be on the ball, and have already seem to have decided the

Salvador and Luisa get a hero's welcome in Portugal
What a fantastic year it has been for Portugal. They have had plenty of reasons to celebrate. First they won the European football championships in the summer of 2016. Their top team won the domestic league this saturday, the Pope has been there this weekend, and to top it off Portugal have finally won it's first Eurovision since 1964. Up until now, Portugal had the dubious award of being a nation that had participated the longest, and not won. It's previous best result
